Julie is the founder of Renew MedSpa and brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to aesthetic care. She is passionate about getting to know each individual, understanding their goals, and recommending treatments that deliver beautiful, natural-looking results. Julie believes aesthetic treatments are a meaningful form of self-care and strives to provide honest, caring, and exceptional service that exceeds expectations at every visit. She has a particular passion for treatments that produce natural yet noticeable results. She would call herself a “laser nerd” because she is so interested in understanding laser physics and wound healing. Julie has served as an expert consultant in legal cases involving aesthetic and energy-based devices, providing standard-of-care assessments and medical record reviews for litigation.
Professional Philosophy: My mission is to serve each person before me with care, presence, and intention, using the skills and talents I have spent a lifetime cultivating. I believe every person is inherently valuable, and I strive to be a blessing through my work—not by what I gain, but by how I can help. While I may not always get it right, this commitment reflects who I am and who I continually seek to become.
Education & Experience: Julie holds a B.A. in Print Journalism and has completed MBA coursework at the University of St. Thomas, bringing strong communication, business, and educational insight to her patient consultations and business operations. She is certified and experienced in advanced skin rejuvenation treatments and modalities, aesthetic injections, body contouring, lasers, and phlebotomy. Her training includes the University of St. Thomas, Medspa Institute of America, Allergan Medical Institute, Revance Aesthetics U, Louise Walsh International Academy, Minnesota Brow & Lash Academy, American Red Cross, Alma Laser Academy, Cartessa CO₂ Laser training, Phlebotomy Training Specialists, and the National Ski Patrol. Interests: In her free time, Julie enjoys reading, taking classes, learning new things, traveling, spending time with friends, family, and animals, and volunteering as a first responder and Outdoor Emergency Care Technician at Welch Village Ski & Snowboard Resort.
Steve Sorensen, EMT
Operations & Client Relations
Steve is an EMT with more than 30 years of experience in emergency medical care and trauma response. At Renew MedSpa, he plays a key role in operations and client relations, ensuring every part of the business runs smoothly and efficiently. His calm presence, attention to detail, and client-first mindset help support both the team and the overall patient experience. Steve also brings over three decades of professional engineering experience, contributing a unique analytical perspective and strong problem-solving skills to Renew’s operations. He holds a degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota, adding depth to his technical expertise and operational insight. In his free time, Steve enjoys fixing and building things, waterskiing, downhill skiing, ski instructing at Afton, spending time with friends and family, and serving his community through emergency medical services.
Charles Tessier, D.O. P.C.
Medical Director
Dr. Tessier is Renew’s Medical Director and is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Board Certified in Family Medicine, and has a strong background in occupational medicine. His experience consists of a combination of Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and clinic collaboration/supervision. In his free time he enjoys anything outdoors, including camping, bike riding, hiking, and kayaking/paddle boarding.
