What is sublingual medication?
Sublingual medication refers to a method of drug administration where a substance is placed under the tongue, allowing it to dissolve and be absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the tissues in the mouth. Benefits of sublingual delivery include no needles and easy to administer, flexible dosing, rapid absorption, and 90-day expiration.
How you will receive your medication and how to store it
The weight loss medication is shipped to your home direct from the pharmacy and will arrive by overnight delivery. Store the medication in your refrigerator. Do not freeze, and protect it from heat and light.
How to take sublingual medication
Each medication order you receive will include specific dosing instructions. To get the most out of a sublingual medication, you want to make sure you take it correctly.
- Sit upright before taking a sublingual medication. Don’t lie down while the medication is being absorbed.
- Do not eat, chew gum, drink, or smoke while the sublingual medication is being absorbed.
- Place the medication under your tongue and leave it there for 60-90 seconds while being absorbed into your system.
- Avoid swallowing the liquid while you wait for it to absorb. If you swallow the medication earlier, it won’t work as quickly, and it will not have the desired effect.
